Overview
Camden Council has launched a public consultation on the renewal of its Additional Licensing Scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). The scheme, which has been in place since 2015, is set to expire in December 2025 and aims to ensure safety and management standards in privately rented homes.
Who is Affected?
The scheme applies to house and flat shares, student homes, bedsits, and some converted flats. Landlords must obtain an additional licence if they own or manage an HMO occupied by three or more people.
