Renters Reform Coalition Looks Ahead to New Campaigns

With the Renters Rights Bill expected to receive Royal Assent some time this year and implementation to follow in stages, the Renters Reform Coalition — a group of pro-tenant organisations including Generation Rent, student unions, Acorn, and Shelter — is already planning its next phase of campaigning.

The Coalition has begun advertising for a new policy officer, offering £38,000 per year for a 35-hour week. Social media posts promoting the role hint that “the cost of renting” could become the next major campaign focus, with recent coalition statements suggesting rent caps may be among the key demands.

The job advert seeks “a committed and persuasive individual to help us influence change and give renters a voice,” noting a preference for candidates with experience in policy and legislative advocacy, as well as research and analysis skills. Above all, applicants must be passionate about improving renters’ lives and advancing “progressive change.”
