Developer TSS Property has submitted a planning application for a landmark 30-storey Build to Rent (BTR) tower in Preston city centre. Named “Altura,” the 96-metre development is set to become the tallest residential building in Lancashire if it is granted planning consent.
The proposed scheme will transform a ground-level car park into a modern, high-density residential building, providing 218 flats—163 one-bedroom and 55 two-bedroom units—to accommodate over 270 people. The development will also include seven Grade A office spaces, a mix of co-working areas and larger suites, catering to both remote workers and businesses.
Altura is designed to offer a premium lifestyle for tenants, with a host of on-site amenities, including a gym, pilates studio, games room, and a residents-only cinema. The building will also feature a communal lounge, 24-hour concierge service, and secure fob-access doors, with all flats having an energy-efficient EPC B rating.
TSS Property, a Preston-based developer, is already active in the city, currently delivering another BTR scheme on a brownfield site. The Altura project marks a significant step in the city’s regeneration, aligning with the growing trend of purpose-built rental housing that offers a professionally managed, high-quality living experience.
