Two days after being appointed, two of the housing ministers have stepped down to ‘return to the back benches’.

Eddie Hughes, rough sleeping minister, and Marcus Jones, housing minister, announced that they are returning to the back benches amid the reshuffle of junior ministers.

Paul Scully will remain as local government minister. Lia Nici, levelling up minister, has not confirmed her future.

We wait to see who there replacements will be, but with the death of the Queen, there is likely to be a pause in these matters
