More legislation has proven to create a cause and effect relationship – higher rents and fewer properties to rent. There is no balance in the proposals as landlords have no power to cease a tenancy with an unreasonable tenant that may not be deemed antisocial in behaviour. The tenant on the other hand can end the tenancy when they wish to. Is this just or fair? Or was it ever intended to be fair for the landlord.
